IT Support and Cybersecurity Services with a focus on compliance
Overview
Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) plays a critical role in improving the environmental outcomes of end‑of‑life tyres across Australia. As a not‑for‑profit organisation working with government, industry, and multiple third‑party partners, TSA operates in a highly collaborative, and highly accountable, environment.
To support this work, TSA needed an IT partner that could do more than keep systems running. They required strong information security practices, clear governance, and an ability to work calmly through complex, multi‑party technical challenges.
Otto IT partnered with TSA to deliver secure, structured, and responsive IT support across Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, and ongoing managed services.
The Problem
TSA’s IT environment had to support a diverse group of internal stakeholders and external partners, while meeting increasing expectations around security, compliance, and risk management.
Key challenges included:
- Achieving and maintaining ISO 27001 accreditation
- Migrating and modernising Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments
- Coordinating technical work across multiple third‑party providers
- Improving security awareness across the organisation
- Ensuring incidents and risks were handled transparently and appropriately
- Doing all of this without disrupting day‑to‑day operations
This wasn’t a single project. It was an evolving program of work that required consistency, trust, and a clear understanding of governance obligations.
The Solution
We worked closely with TSA to provide a structured, security‑focused approach across a broad range of initiatives.
Support included:
- ISO 27001 support and guidance
Helping TSA navigate the technical and operational requirements of accreditation, with a focus on practical, sustainable controls rather than box‑ticking. - Microsoft 365 and SharePoint migrations
Planning and delivering migrations that improved collaboration while maintaining strong information governance and access controls. - Ongoing managed IT support
Providing responsive day‑to‑day support, with issues clearly explained and resolved efficiently. - Security awareness training
Helping staff understand their role in protecting sensitive information, in plain language, not security jargon. - Incident investigation and response
Supporting TSA through security incidents with a calm, methodical approach that prioritised risk management and transparency. - Multi‑party technical coordination
Acting as a central point of coordination between TSA and external vendors, ensuring responsibilities were clear and work stayed aligned.
Throughout the engagement, Otto IT worked closely with TSA’s internal stakeholders, adapting communication styles and technical depth to suit different audiences.
The Outcome
TSA now operates with:
- A stronger, more mature information security posture
- Microsoft 365 systems that better support collaboration and governance
- Greater confidence in managing risk, incidents, and third‑party relationships
- An IT environment aligned with security and governance best practices
Just as importantly, TSA has an IT partner they trust, one that understands their operating context and works alongside them, rather than simply responding to tickets.
